A Thai woman found the 12 million baht in a plastic bin near the garbage dump on the fourth floor of the condo on June 5 and reported it to the police.
The person who claimed to be the owner of the money is a resident of the fifth floor of the condo and is also the husband of a member of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).
He went to the police station to give a statement about the money he owned.
He told the police that he had been cleaning out his condo to renovate it and that he had thrown away the plastic bin, mistaking it for a bin containing old clothes.
